Jim Ruppert is the President and founder of Safe Harbor Inspections Inc. a successful and growing Real Estate Inspection Services Company, which was incorporated in 2003.

​

Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Stony Brook University. He holds two associate degrees, one in Social Science and the other in Automotive Engineering. Over his 30 years in Residential and Commercial Real Estate Property Management, he has been responsible for many aspects of real estate construction, maintenance, and improvement. Jim has been very successful in improving the value of various real estate investments. He is an expert at quickly determining defects in real estate and proposing how to best repair or improve them.

He is Chairman of the annual continuing education seminar for the Long Island and Metro New York inspection industry and is very active in various inspection associations. Jim has created an innovative approach for effective and meaningful communication to the company’s clients regarding inspection findings. Inspecting real estate and training other inspectors for excellence is a natural for Jim.

​

As of 2020 Jim has retired from field work but is still active in running the company and is the head of the company’s marketing department. Jim also lends his expertise as an expert witness in legal matters. Jim currently lives in Babylon with his wife.

Collin Ruppert is the Vice President and co-owner of Safe Harbor Inspections Inc. Collin is a New York State Licensed Home Inspector, NYS Licensed Mold Inspector, NYS Licensed Asbestos Inspector and a Certified Residential Thermographier.

​

Collin earned a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science in 2004 as well as a bachelor’s degree in Geology in 2010. Prior to joining Safe Harbor Inspections, he worked in various construction trades and learned the basic principles of residential and commercial construction methods and materials. In 2004 he joined Safe Harbor Inspections and since joining Safe Harbor, has performed over 4000 inspections of residential and commercial buildings.

​

During his time as a building inspector, he also has managed many residential renovation projects, some of which included raising houses in flood zones to meet FEMA regulations.  Collin is the current president of the local chapter of the Metropolitan Association of Home Inspectors. Collin currently lives in Babylon with his wife and children.

Laura Slater, Operations Director

Laura joined Safe Harbor Inspections in 2017 and has become an invaluable member of our staff. Laura has over 30 years’ experience in Administration with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Management.

 

Since joining our team Laura has streamlined the daily operations for Safe Harbor. Laura is the voice of our company and when you call, she greets you with a warm and friendly smile. Laura and her husband currently live in Medford along with their Alaskan Malamute Russie.

Bryan Bertoli

Bryan Bertoli is a licensed home inspector who joined Safe Harbor in 2016. He received a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and for the past 15 years has worked on large-scale transportation projects. Bryan is an invaluable member of the Safe Harbor Team and his engineering background is well utilized as he performs home inspections. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, reading, and the beach. Bryan currently resides in Massapequa with his wife and daughter.

Nicholas Calabro

Nick began working for his brother’s construction company in 1995 while attending college at CW Post on Long Island. Nick has over 26 years of hands-on construction experience, and has extensive knowledge of home building, rehabilitation, and renovation. In 2004, Nick followed in his father’s footsteps and fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a NYC firefighter. He was stationed in Flushing, New York but has recently retired from duty. In 2015 Nick decided to put his extensive knowledge of home building to further use and became a licensed home inspector. He enjoys helping home buyers make well-informed home purchasing decisions. In addition to his Home Inspector’s License, Nick is also a New York State Licensed Mold Inspector. Nick Calabro currently lives in Freeport with his wife Trish, and his two children. He enjoys boating and fishing, as well as coaching his son’s baseball team.

Jason Delnicki

Jason Delnicki is a licensed New York State Home Inspector and has been a New York City Fireman for the past 15 years. As a New York City Fireman, Jason has taken many classes and has had a tremendous amount of field training pertaining to buildings and construction. In addition, he has been in various aspects of the construction trades for over 25 years as a general carpenter and handyman. Jason has taken specialized courses in electrical and other trades and is capable of taking on pretty much any aspect of construction. Jason’s extensive background and knowledge as a Firefighter gives him a unique perspective into building structure and operation. Safe Harbor considers Jason a tremendous asset and since he is a Brooklyn resident he takes care of all our Brooklyn, NYC, and the Bronx clients. He currently resides in Bensonhurst with his two children.

Rob Doyle

Rob Doyle is a New York State licensed home inspector as well as a New York State Licensed Mold Inspsector. He has over 25 years experience in the construction industry including owning his own home-improvement company for 12 years. His company specialized in high end carpentry and cabinet work. Rob is also a retired New York City firefighter where he received additional training in building structure and hazardous material. As a trained Firefighter we believe his unique experience and background give him intimate knowledge regarding structures and buildings. Even though Rob sold his company he still works in construction and continues to hone his skillset. We are very fortunate to have him part of the Safe Harbor Team. He enjoys scuba diving, fishing, and traveling. Rob lives in Smithtown with his wife and four children.

Ryan Lynch

Ryan joined Safe Harbor in 2018 and quickly became a valuable member of the inspection team. In additional to Ryan being a NY State Licensed Home Inspector, Ryan is also a New York State Licensed Mold Inspector. Ryan’s knowledge of building structure and systems combined with great interpersonal skills and general sensibility make him an asset to anyone buying or selling a home or building.

​

Ryan Lynch is a retired detective of the New York City police department. During his career with the NYPD Ryan did work in many specialized units ending with the elite fugitive enforcement division. Unfortunately, he was injured in the line of duty leading to an early retirement. Once Ryan left the police department he decided to embark on a new career as a home inspector. His calling for serving others is still as strong as ever. Fortunately for Safe Harbor we get the benefit of his exemplary work ethic. Ryan currently resides in Smithtown with his daughter.

Mark Forca

Mark Forca is a NY State Licensed Home Inspector who joined Safe Harbor Inspections in 2020.

Mark has over 25 years’ experience in the Home Improvement industry with extensive knowledge and hands on experience in sales, installations, and service of, including but not limited to, roofing, siding, windows, doors, and all types of flooring.

​

Having served in the USAF in the early 80’s and American Airlines in the 90’s, has instilled in Mark a tremendous work ethic. His attention to detail, discipline, training, leadership, and his focus on building strong customer relationships makes Mark a valuable asset to Safe Harbor.  Mark is also a strong believer in “Going Above and Beyond” and to “Do the Right Thing”, even when nobody is looking!  That’s Integrity.

Mark and his family have lived in Smithtown since 1999. He loves spending time with his family and upstate at the family home. He enjoys all sports, rooting for the Yankees, NY Giants football and NY Rangers hockey.

Robert Santos

Robert Santos is a New York State licensed home inspector who joined the Safe Harbor team in 2021. Robert has over a decade of experience in all aspects of HVAC systems, including plumbing and electrical. Robert has demonstrated knowledge in operations and engineering in an intricate 4 building complex. Over his career, Robert has received numerous certifications in safety including OSHA, control systems, mechanical and environmental regulations including knowledge and understanding of EPA regulations. Robert continuously seeks to further his education in many areas that benefit him as an attentive and thorough home inspector. During his free time Robert enjoys building and working on race cars. He enjoys cruising and going to car shows in his prized possession, a 1969 SS Chevy Camaro. Robert currently lives in Huntington with his fiance and son Robby.

Greg Stoessel

Greg Stoessel is a New York State licensed home inspector who joined Safe Harbor Inspections Inc. in 2019.  Prior to joining Safe Harbor, Greg worked in various home improvement and construction trades such as but not limited to installation and servicing of swimming pools, installation of wood flooring, as well as several other trades.

Greg also had a career in Banking and Finance which he retired from prior to joining the Safe Harbor Team. Greg earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1986. After retiring from the finance field Greg returned to his love of working with his hands and helping people who are in the process of achieving their dream of owning their forever home.

Greg’s attention to detail, patience and focus have made him an invaluable addition to the Safe Harbor team, which is exactly what all of Greg’s clients say about him. Greg is a long time resident of Smithtown where he and his wife raised their three daughters who have all graduated from college and gone off to start their own careers.
