Thomas V. Walsh

Thomas V. Walsh

After a childhood spent in East Meadow learning construction from his father, Tom has worked in nearly all facets of the construction industry since the early 1970s. In 1997, a relative and a licensed Realtor suggested he use all of that knowledge and experience to start his own home inspection business. He decided to augment his own lifetime of experience by attending home inspection courses at Hofstra University and C.W. Post. Armed with this knowledge and experience, All Aspects Home Inspections Inc. was born. Seventeen years later, All Aspects Home Inspections is one of the leading home inspection companies in the New York area.

In 1997 he was approached by two local home inspectors with the idea of developing an association for regional home inspectors. The purpose of this association would be the education of home inspectors. In 1998 Tom became a founding member of the Metropolitan Association of Home Inspectors (MAHI).

When the licensing of New York State home inspectors began to be discussed, MAHI was at the forefront. The organization was instrumental in shaping the current Home Inspectors Licensing Laws by sitting on committees and attending meetings at the Department of State in Albany. When licensing requirements for home inspectors in began 2006, Tom became fully licensed and recognized by the state of the New York.

As an experienced New York State Licensed and Certified Real Estate Inspector, and member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), Tom has performed thousands of home inspections.

Licensing & Certifications

New York State began licensing requirements for home inspectors in New York State on January 1, 2006. Along with using a licensed inspector, it is paramount to obtain the services of a qualified inspector who is certified and affiliated with a recognized national home inspection association. The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) is the premier national home inspection association in the United States and Metropolitan Association of Home Inspectors (MAHI) is a leading regional association. Inspectors must meet stringent requirements and pass an in-depth exam before they are considered ASHI certified. Licensed New York State inspectors must use state mandated inspection standards for every inspection performed. In order to keep their license status, they are required to attend a mandatory amount of continuing education annually.

Insurance

Not all inspectors carry Errors and Omission (E&O) insurance. For peace of mind insurance should be an essential element when searching for a home inspector. All Aspects Home Inspections Inc. is fully insured.
